I woke to rain drops against the roof of the camper......and hearing Kevin explain to Jason what their plan was for the day. They (Kevin, Mark and Tom) still wanted to give the Mickelson a try....despite the dire forcast, cold weather and rain. Jason and I had already decided if it was raining....we were not riding. Go ahead and call me a puss......but 50 degrees and rain is not an ideal riding situation for me!!
We took our time getting up and moving. We stopped for breakfast at the Sandtrap and decided to hit Two Wheeler Dealer to shop and browse for some bike stuff. The rain came and went....but the sun never did come out. Around noon we tried to intercept the guys around Rochford....but we never did hook up.
Jason and I headed back to the Festival site. With the rain stopping, we decided to take advantage of the demo bikes and took a couple Trek's, Fisher's and Specialized bikes for a spin......nothing like getting someone elses bikes dirty, while mine stayed clean in the back of the truck!!
At the end of the we hooked up with the boys in their cabin, and heard the horror stories of a soft trail, cold winds, fog and rain. It seemed odd to me, since the "Mick" was supposed to be such an easy trail......but the weather had made it tougher.
The boys were whipped, but they cleaned up and we headed to the social event at the Chop House, munching on some great grub and hoping to win some cool swag. Jason came away the only winner in our crew, winning some cool "Two Wheeler Dealer" water glasses, some Price Point socks and a sweet Salsa Jersey. The Jersey was a size large, which wouldn't work for him....since he is as tall as a light pole........so I ended up with the jersey......saweeet!!!
We retreated to the camper......again with rain pouring down.....dammmit!!
